Fairfield Behavioral Health Services’ Executive Director, Vernon Kennedy Sr. would like to thank its board of directors for participating in the 22nd Annual Board Seminar held at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach on January 18-20th.

Quincey Pringle, and George Kennerly along with the board secretary, Diane Perry and Prevention Coordinator, Cheryl Goodwin.
Special thanks to Ms. Roach and Attorney Frick for presiding over two of the sessions.
“I found the board seminar to be very informative and beneficial to help meet the needs of board members and the agencies they govern in Fairfield County and across the entire state of South Carolina,” says Ms. Roach.
Ms. Roach also stated, “I am very proud of my fellow board members and their participation in this year’s seminar and their commitment to Fairfield Behavioral Health Services.”
The purpose of the board seminar is to strengthen the substance abuse network by providing quality training to the board of directors of the county alcohol and drug abuse authorities.
The training is designed to enhance their present knowledge, keep the boards informed on current trends and legislative issues, and help develop a vision for the future.
Moreover, Fairfield Behavioral Health Services’ board of directors participated in sessions on Succession Planning, Gang Awareness, Leadership Transition, Addiction and Disease, Communicating with Legislators, and Board Roles and Responsibilities. To wrap up the seminar, local board of directors also participated in a regional (Midlands; Region 2) discussion session lead by Mr. Kennedy who also serves as the Chair of the Region Two Committee comprised of other directors of county alcohol and drug abuse authorities.
Fairfield Behavioral Health Services has a great team of board of directors who work well together.
“Currently there are two vacancies on our board and we welcome persons who will be committed and dedicated to advocating for the continued growth and success of substance abuse services in Fairfield County,” says Kennedy.
