A funeral service for Mrs. Esther A. Smith, 70, of Winnsboro was held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Glover’s Memorial Chapel. Rev. Abraham Boyd officiated. Burial followed at Ross Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Billy Harts, Willie James Johnson and Paul Harts. Floral bearers were Janet Harts and Peggy Harts.

Mrs. Smith died on June 2, 2008.

Born on February 2, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Caroline Chappell Stewart. She was married to the late Tom A. Smith.

Surviving are son, John (Elizabeth) Smith of Winnsboro, S.C.; two daughters, Linda Smith and Penny (Carvel) Diggs, both of Columbia; sister, Laura Mae Harts of Jenkinsville, S.C.; two aunts, Maybell Murray of Georgia and Mattie Friday of Columbia, S.C.; uncle, Dave Stewart of Columbia, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; one great-great grandson, Jayden Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Glover’s Memorial Chapel served the Smith family.
