Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the families of Doris M.Hobgood of the Bethel Community and Minnie Lee Montgomery of th Hillcrest Community.
The ladies were very prominent and dear friends of mine and many others.
Margaret Sanders enjoyed a telephone visit from her good friend, Mildred Lunden, who makes her home in North Carolina. Mildred had joined members of the Bryce family at the First Baptist Church for their reunion. Mildred says that mostly the cousins attended, as most of the younger folk are not too interested in genealogy at this time.
Saturday morning proved to be a lovely time for the nine members of the Woodbine Garden Club and four visitors as they enjoyed Selwyn and William Turner's lovely yards. The group met there and then on up the Lebanon Church where the lovely gardens were enjoyed with the flowers in bloom, including the gardenias and roses, among many other things.
Lola Dove was hostess so she had a delightful brunch awaiting us.
Leon and Denna enjoyed visits from their children, Charles and a friend of his from Greenville, and Jennifer from Varnville on Father's Day.
Thought for the week: "A kindly deed at the right moment is worth a hundred thoughts."
