Michael Williams officially became Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s administrator July 3 after more than 25 years of service at the hospital.
Williams and his wife, Beverly, live in Winnsboro and have raised a daughter, Kutina, and a son, Michael Williams II.
Chairman of the Hospital Board, John Peoples said after official contracts were signed, “it’s our feeling, and I am speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees, that we needed a person at the hospital who, as a hospital administrator, had been here for some time, that was familiar with the hospital, all the things that go on in the hospital, and who is familiar with all of the hospital employees. We found that in Mike Williams.”
In expressing his hopes for the future of the hospital, Peoples went on to say, “we operate a good hospital but for some reason in many of our communities it is called a band-aid station. But with many of the changes that we have made recently we see us moving it to the next level.”
Referring to Williams’ leadership at the hospital, Peoples continued, “I think we will be successful with Mike as the hospital administrator.
“Mike is dedicated, very loyal and he’s aggressive but in the right way. Not only that but he is very innovative and creative.
Much of the success of the hospital has come as a result of what Mike has done in the areas that he has been responsible for here at the hospital.”
Peoples ended by saying, “we are pleased to have him as our administrator.
We will do all that we can to support him.”
