The gymnasium was packed with both home team and visiting team fans.
The end results were mixed. The Lady Cyclones defeated the Lady Griffins 79-53.
During the main event, the Griffins closed the deal with a big win, defeating the Cyclones 71-57.
Both games had a little of everything; intensity, turnovers, tension, competitiveness, and slam dunks.
The Lady Griffins were led in scoring by Nikki Craig with 25 points, LaQuinta Guinyard with 14 points, Shateal Reynolds with 8 points, Danielle Broome with 4 points and Andrea Holmes with 2 points.
The Griffins leading scorers were Dominique Weldon with 17 points, Marquis Robinson and Kendrick Anderson with 16 points each, McKendrix Thompson with 10 points, Shaquille Crumpton with 4 points, Michael Trapp and Anthony Craig with 3 points each, and Stacy Brown with 2 points.
The Lady Griffins and Griffins will travel to Lower Richland on Tuesday to take on the Diamond Hornets.
