In their game against the Lady Falcs, the Lady Griffins were unable to come away victorious. They lost 63-46.
The first quarter wasn’t very exciting until about halfway. With 6:24 left on the clock, the Lady Falcons led the Lady Griffins 5-0. Moments later, LaQuinta Guinyard was able to steal the basketball but the Lady Griffins didn't score any points off the turnover. The Lady Falcons increased their lead to 8-0 and 4:50 left in the first quarter. The Lady Griffins turned the ball over once again and the Lady Falcons answered back with some points. Danielle Broome then answered back for the Lady Griffins. The score was then 14-2 with 2:25 left on the clock. Nikki Craig then came through for the Lady Gs followed by a three pointer from the Lady Falcons. With less than a minute left in the quarter, the Lady Griffins gave the ball back to the Lady Falcons.
At the end of the first quarter, the score was 17-4.
Danielle Broome scored the Lady Griffins first points to begin the second quarter, followed by another turnover. LaQuinta Guinyard scored for the Lady G's moments later. The score was 17-8. The Lady Falcons would soon score again and LaQuinta Guinyard nailed the jumper from down town. The Lady Falcons soon went back down court and scored once again. The Lady Griffins turned the ball over on their offensive drive. With 5:37 left in the second quarter, the score was 23-11, the Lady Griffins were still down. Nikki Craig made an easy layup. The Lady Falcons answered back with three pointer. Moments later, LaQuinta Guinyard nailed the jumper inside the three point line. The Lady Falcons then gave the ball back to the Lady Griffins. The score was 28-17 with 2:57 left on the clock. After a few more turnovers from both teams, at half time the score was 31-19.
The Lady Falcons turned the ball over to begin the third quarter. But minutes later, the Lady Falcons scored off the Lady Griffins turnover. Andrea Holmes answered back for the Lady Griffins. Then on the Lady Griffins next offensive drive, Nikki Craig was fouled on the shot. She made one of two attempts. With 6:13 left on the clock, the score was 35-22. Jakeisha Crumpton found Nikki Craig down low for two. Then a little later, Shateal Reynolds scored for the Lady Gs. With 1:16 left on the clock, the score was 44-30. And to end the third quarter, the Lady Griffins were down 46-30.
To begin the fourth quarter, the Lady Griffins turned the ball over. The Lady Falcons answered back with a three pointer. Nikki Craig scored again for the Lady Griffins. With 7:10 left in the fourth quarter, the score was 50-32. Off the Lady Griffins inbound play, Andrea Holmes was found down court all alone for an easy lay up. The Lady Falcons scored back down court. Nikki Craig for the basket down low and the score 56-36. Shateal Reynolds answered back for the Lady Griffins. Moments later, Danielle Broome found Shateal Reynolds for the basket. With 1:52 left in the game, Danielle Broome scored again for the Lady Griffins. The final score was 63-46.
