As the time nears for students to return to school, those in the Ridgeway and surrounding areas know it is time for the annual Walk in Faith.

For the past 12 years the town has come together to walk 1.5 miles, from the corner of Church and Palmer streets to Bethlehem Baptist Church on Third Street. This year’s walk will take place on Sunday at 6 p.m.

The group, which is organized by Patricia Kelly-Johnson, holds a prayer vigil for a safe school year for all.

They come together to pray for the students, teachers, bus drivers and administrators.

Each student between the ages of 5-years-old and 18-years-old who attends and participates in the walk will receive a Wal-Mart gift card.

If there is rain on Sunday during the time of the event, participants are asked to come directly to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
