At its Thursday night meeting, The Fairfield County Planning Commission considered a rezoning request.

The request was to change 7.47 acres of property at 44 Toatley Road from rural resource district to limited business district.

If the request passes, the property could be used for any of the more than 60 different categories of businesses that can go in a B-1 district.

Ron Stowers, director with Fairfield County Planning, Building and Zoning, said the B-1 designations is limited to likely neighborhood sized commercial businesses.

The commission approved that the rezoning request be submitted to county council first for a public hearing and, if acted upon, for three readings of an ordinance which would change the property zoning classification.
