You and your voice are the two most essential pieces for community unity.

You, along with one of the most powerful rights in our great country, your voting rights, are the essence that makes our country great.

Let us take a moment and reflect back in history on some of our country’s great leaders and their support and sacrifices for our right to vote.

Let us not forget the great leaders that the country may not know by name, but they live in our communities.

Each of us can remember a great leader, someone we knew up close and personal.

Maybe a pastor or minister who stood before you sharing words of wisdom and instruction to help mold our lives into the spiritual and physical facets of life that is equally given to all of us, or that school counselor or teacher that shared knowledge that left an impact on our life and our future, or that insurance lady that came by, dressed so nicely, smiling sharing thoughts of the importance of community unity, life’s challenges and life’s victories, or maybe that parent or grandparent that provided inspiration to help us become good citizens that are concerned about their community, it’s children, it’s senior citizens, and the quality of life.

These great community leaders worked together to improve and make change by using their voting rights.

They realized the vital importance of communities working together by exercising their vote to place in office elected officials that will represent them and support them by again using the power of their vote to make and change laws that affect us.

I encourage you to speak loudly on Nov. 6.
