Third Thursday started off slowly with no one taking part in the Puss and Boots costume contest.

Karaoke at the gazebo even had a hard time getting people up and moving. It was almost as if a cat had their collective tongue, in keeping with the theme of the planned movie “Puss and Boots.”

The summer movie series sponsored by the Town of Winnsboro and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce continued at 8:40 p.m. with the showing of, not “Puss and Boots” as planned, but “Joyful Noise” as originally scheduled.

The back and forth concerning which movie to play had many confused, but in the end the movie came down to the choice of the group in attendance.

The concern was that “Joyful Noise” was a PG-13 movie and that the moviegoers for the last few movies had been a little young for such a movie.

In the end, all turned out well with movie night.

Third Thursday also contained information at the gazebo about The Big Grab 25-Mile Yard Sale and Rock Around the Clock.

Everyone is invited out on Sept. 21 to kick off Third Friday’s in Downtown Winnsboro.

Friday nights will offer for a bigger turn out now that school is back in. The first movie will be “We Bought a Zoo” starting Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.
