The Fairfield County Sheriff’s office is asking for information of the whereabouts of Lauren Grace Dixon, 16, of 1120 Newberry Road, Winnsboro.
Officers confirm that in the late evening hours of Aug. 18 or the early morning hours of Aug. 19 she ran away from her home.
The teen left a note informing her mother, Jessica Davis Atkerson, that she was running away.
According to Captain Brad Douglas with Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, “information gathered suggests that a 20-year-old male known as ‘Brian’ made contact with her on the internet and convinced her to run away from home to be with him.”
The pair may possibly be headed to Lexington, N.C.
Dixon was last seen wearing a white dress shirt, blue jeans and brown flip flops.
She is about 5’1” and weighs 130 lbs. The teen has blonde highlights in her long brown hair.
Additional identifying marks include a mole on her right cheek near her lips.
