A Winnsboro teen reported missing over the weekend was located Wednesday in Orangeburg County, according to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department.
Lauren Grace Dixon, 16, of 1120 Newberry Road, Winnsboro, was located in the town of Branchville.
The individual she was traveling with, Edward Bryan Proveaux, 29, of 270 Carpenter St., Branchville, was arrested at that time.
At press time, Proveaux is being held at the Fairfield County Detention Center on pending charges, according to Fairfield County Sheriff’s Captain Brad Douglas.
Dixon reportedly left a note during the late evening hours of Sunday or the early morning hours of Monday telling her mother that she was running away from home.
It is believed that she met Proveaux via the Internet.
