Rotarian Vernon Kennedy invited Sandi Gratic and Danielle Mozie to do his program recently.

Gratic works in the student services department and Mozie is the school social worker for Fairfield Elementary School and Fairfield Magnet School.

These ladies discussed a new McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program is a Title X, Part C, of the No Child Left Behind Act.

This legislation ensures that children and youth experiencing homelessness have full and equal access to an appropriate public education and that they can experience success in school.

They shared the components of the legislation and gave the definition of who is considered homeless according to the standards of the act.

Following the presentation, a written test was given to the Rotarians.

The club appreciated Gratic and Mozie for sharing this enlightening presentation.
