The Fairfield Central Griffins will be heading to Chester to take on the Chester High School Cyclones tonight.
This is sure to be a great match up with both teams running similar defensive and offensive schemes.
Not only will this be a great match up, but it is sure to be very physical game because the Cyclones are a large team.
But, the Griffins are healthy and say they are up for the challenge, using speed and schemes to account for the size differences.
The Griffins, coming off a loss to Abbeville, have worked this week on taking care of the football.
Coach Demetrius Davis said,”Only one team can beat us and that is Fairfield Central. If we don’t take care of the ball and make the plays, we beat ourselves.”
That is what happened last week and the Griffins are looking to recover from the loss.
The Cyclones are also coming off of a loss last week to South Pointe High School.
They are also looking for a victory to right the ship as they return home after two weeks on the road.
This will be a much shorter road trip for the Griffins compared to last week’s two-and-a-half hour drive.
Davis wanted to thank the fans who travelled with them last week and encouraged them to make the trip to Chester tonight.
The Griffins are 1-1 right now and looking for a victory tonight. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
