
WINNSBORO- On Sunday at 3 p.m. the Fairfield County wood chipping and waste tire facility located at 5679 Old Airport Road in Winnsboro held its ribbon cutting ceremony.
In attendance for the event was Jake Gaston deputy public works director, Philip Hinely county administrator, Davis Anderson assistant county administrator, and County Council members David Ferguson, Dwayne Perry, and Carolyn Robinson.
The new facility accepts limbs, stumps, leaves, grass clippings, and yard debris which is all turned into mulch on site. The site is open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m., and closed on Sunday.
For those who would like mulch for their yards you can go by the site during regular business hours to pick up a load.
Recycling is important to Fairfield County and this chipping site and waste tire facility givens everyone in the county another opportunity to take part in making the county a beautiful place to live.
