RIDGEWAY — Fairfield County Sheriff’s deputies have made two arrests as a result of an undercover and ongoing investigation into prostitution in the Ridgeway area.
On Sept. 13 an undercover officer was able to locate, pick up and arrange for the subject to perform sexual acts in exchange for money.
Once a price was agreed upon, officers who had been monitoring the situation arrested Mary Hughey, 51, of 490 Macedonia Church Road in Ridgeway.
Hughey was charged with prostitution and then transported to the Fairfield County Detention Center.
Also on Sept. 13, Rosetta Miller, 50, of 1269 Highway 21 S., Ridgeway, was arrested and charged with prostitution.
An undercover officer was able to locate, pick up and arrange for Miller to perform sexual acts in exchange for money.
She was taken to the Fairfield County Detention Center.
According to Captain Brad Douglas with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department, the department had received several complaints from citizens and that led to the investigation.
