STAFFORD, Va. Funeral services for May Ida Turkett Stevenson, 88, formerly of Irmo, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, with burial immediately following in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the funeral home.
Stevenson died Saturday, December 8, 2012.
Born in Jenkinsville, she was a daughter of the late William James Humphrey Turkett and Annie May Dukes Turkett.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Winnsboro and most recently attended The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg, Va.
Surviving are her daughter, Alexandra “Sandy” Askins (Paul) of Stafford, Va.; brother, James H. Turkett (Ruth) of Greenville; sister, Olivia Chestnut of Columbia; five grandchildren, Sara Askins Baker (Ike), Paula Askins Graham (Dave), Constance Askins (Kate), Suzanne Stevenson Godwin (Wilton), and Charles Stevenson (Merritt); and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Alexander Stevenson; son, Charlie Stevenson Jr.; three brothers; and one sister.
