WINNSBORO — The Family of the late Tillie Armstrong is working to continue the legacy that she began.
The Zion Hill Prevention Save the Kids group hosted the 16th annual Stuff the Bus on Saturday at Wal-Mart in Winnsboro. This is just one of many activities started by Tillie Armstrong that the group continues.
Armstrong’s daughter Edwanda Armstrong serves as organizer for the events along with the help of her siblings and other family members. Last year the Stuff the Bus donations served 125 families and the group hopes to at least serve 125 families this year, if not more.
Edwanda Armstrong is currently accepting the names of families who are not receiving Christmas help from any other organization. She can be reached at 635-4575.
Fairfield Central High School Beta Club members volunteered for the event on Saturday. The group helped to collect toys, donations, and non-perishable items to Stuff the Bus. Tony Armstrong said this is a great event to show support to the community as well as continue the legacy of his mother.
“This is a good way to celebrate Christ’s birthday by giving back to the community,” he said. “We thank everyone for their support.”
