Ms. Brenda Jackson's 8th grade class at Richard Winn Academy decided their class project would be to collect items and money for the Fairfield Animal Rescue.

Jane Boyter, Fairfield Animal Rescue member and volunteer went to the school and talked with the children about the importance of caring for animals, being aware of their needs and the importance of having pets spayed or neutered.

“Learning that God's creatures have feelings and all they ask for is love, is an important thing to stress to children so as they go through life, they too can help pass this on to their families and friends,” said Boyter.

The class collected $82.82 and a box full of blankets and warm material for bedding to go in the dog houses.

Anyone interested in adopting a dog or cat please contact Jane Boyter @ 635-4090 or Terri Williams @ 635 2684 or visit the websites; fairfieldanimalrescue.com or petfinders.com.
