WINNSBORO — Community members gave back on Christmas Day at an event hosted by the Fidelity Lodge No. 33 in Ward 1.
The group served more than 200 plates of food to shut-ins and to community members that day. Also, $500 was raised to go toward the outreach project. The menu included turkey, dressing, gravy, green beans, maccaroni and cheese, rolls and a drink.
Many hands were needed to make the event a success, including chef Curtis Harris, Melvin McDaniel, Milton Chambers, and Likaka McDaniel who helped with delivery and also volunteers Will Haslett, Shijetta Henry, Linda Alexander, and Debra McDaniel the event coordinator and fundraiser.
Also included in the outreach were Denise Sampson, president of Ward 1 Community Association, Antiono McDaniel, Linda Haslett, and Chanice Cooper.
