WINNSBORO — The Fairfield Cotillion held its 12th annual Winter Ball on Dec. 29, 2012, at the Old Armory in Fortune Springs Park.

Member debutantes presented were Rebekah Elaine Timms and Ivy Carroll Wilkes. Victoria Allyson Shepard was presented as a guest debutante.

Receiving guests at a reception prior to the Ball were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray Atkerson. Mrs. Atkerson is president of the Cotillion. The Atkersons were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Jose Antonio Carvalho, the debutante daughters, sons, and their parents. Mrs. Carvalho is vice president of the Cotillion.

Three debutantes were presented by their fathers and introduced as they led the traditional debutante figure with their escorts and marshals. Two sons attending their first cotillion were also introduced.

Rebekah Elaine Timms, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Glenn Timms, is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Thomas Moore Jr., the late Mrs. William Bailey Maddox, and the late Phillip Clouid Timms. Miss Timms is a sophomore at The University of South Carolina at Beaufort. Her escort was John Andrew Boulware. James Robert Crawford Wilson served as her marshal.

Ivy Carroll Wilkes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Carle Wilkes, is the granddaughter of Joyce Pope Haizlip, the late John Carroll Pope, and Mr. and Mrs. William Lewis Wilkes. Wilkes is a freshman at The University of South Carolina at Lancaster. Her escort was James Dillon Cail. William Brian Smith Jr. served as her marshal.

Victoria Allyson Shepard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Patrick Shepard, was sponsored by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry Jolly. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry Jolly, Betty Shepard Marthers, and the late Paul Jesse Shepard. Shepard is a sophomore at Winthrop University in Rock Hill. Her escort was Brenton Randall Silvia. Patrick Dean Shepard served as her marshal.

Sons attending their first Cotillion were Robert Boyd Ellison Jr. and Jesse Dalton Haney.

Robert Boyd Ellison Jr. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boyd Ellison. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnston Patrick and Mr. and Mrs. David Gailliard Ellison. Ellison is a sophomore at Horry Georgetown Technical College in Georgetown.

Jesse Dalton Haney is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Haney Jr. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Lathan Rivers and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lee Haney. Haney is a freshman at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C.

Members and guests enjoyed dinner, the Grand March and an evening of dancing to the music of Still Cruzin. The committee planning the Ball included Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray Atkerson, tables and reservations; Mr. and Mrs. Talley Julian Branham, dinner; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wayne Dean, decorations; Mr. and Mrs. George Gregg Douglas Jr., bar; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Edward Wilkes, orchestra and dance; Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Arnette, debutantes.
