UNION — The Richard Winn varsity boys basketball team had a tough go of it Friday night in region tournament play. The Eagles were no match for Spartanburg Christian Academy.

Seniors K’wan Brown and Wesley Melton led the way for Spartanburg Christian. Brown had 24 points and Melton 20, as the two players nearly outscored RWA all by themselves. Brown had a double double with ten assists and he was one rebound away from a triple double. He led the team in rebounds with nine. The Warriors pulled away with a 81-49 victory in round one of the region tournament.

The Eagles were led by senior Logan Gibbons with 18 points and sophomore Cameron Cooper with 11.
