JENKINSVILLE — Jenkinsville Town Council met in light action Wednesday night and Mayor Gregory Ginyard recapped the meeting for The Herald Independent.

According to Ginyard, the council is still working toward a fishing tournament on Lake Monticello. There is a scheduling conflict with a Festival of Churches event, so the committee is looking at a possible date change to increase participation in the community and work in conjunction with the area faith community.

The council also continues to work with the S.C. Department of Transportation on the town sidewalk project. The next meeting of the Jenkinsville Town Council is April 3 at 7 p.m. in Jenkinsville Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
