It seems everywhere we turn today we hear news that makes us question our future stability.

Some of us may feel we are a forgotten community. Au contraire!

I think sometimes it is good to hear what visitors think about our County.

The Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce has a dual purpose working with businesses and also promoting Fairfield County as a great place to visit learn of our history and enjoy our outdoor attractions.

A happy experience in our community will bring visitors back plus they will tell their friends about what a great time they had in Fairfield.

Good word-of-mouth advertising is priceless and helps our local businesses survive and grow.

I would like to share with your readers a thank you from one of our recent tour groups.

I would also like to thank our tourism team that so willingly works to ensure visitors leave our community feeling we indeed went the “extra mile”.

Thank you

Terry Vickers,

President Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce

Terry and Susan,

I cannot begin to tell you two how much we appreciate all you did to make the trip to Winnsboro by the Merry Makers of Oakland Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC, a memorable and enjoyable experience.

From our first visit to the Chamber, we were impressed with your desire to share all you have to offer.

Your securing Lisa as a tour guide was an excellent choice.

She had been in Rock Hill as a Winthrop student and is an excellent product.

She was outstanding as a guide with her knowledge and enthusiasm.

Clarence was an excellent driver and added to the tour with the teamwork with Lisa.

They were both kind and patient with us old folks. You really went that "extra mile" with the transit bus so we could all be together and hear Lisa.

Thanks also for having the keys for the Old Brick Church and making arrangements for George Mosley to open up Little River Baptist Church.

He served us water and offered restroom facilities. The tour was well paced, and extremely well planned.

Our group also enjoyed the lunch (dinner!) at the Barn Express. Food and service were very good.

What more can I say, except to say we will spread the word about what a wonderful place you shared with us!!

Thank you very much for all of your hospitality and efficient planning.

Sincerely,

Gail Kendall for Merry Makers of Oakland Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC
