We have to echo the words this past week of Fairfield County School Board Chair Catherine Kennedy when she said it was a ‘wonderful feeling’ to look down the row at her fellow school board members and see all districts represented. District 7 trustee Polly Parker was seated at the special called board meeting last Thursday night, and with former school board member Josie Gaston holding the Bible, she was sworn in during oath-taking ceremonies at this past Tuesday night’s meeting.
It was also encouraging to see that many of the votes from the school board were 7-0 votes, perhaps signaling a move towards that unit that Mrs. Kennedy called for in an earlier meeting.
“Everyone was here, everyone had an opportunity to share ideas and ask questions. All the districts were represented,” Mrs. Kennedy said.
Truly, a wonderful feeling.
