District: Dr. Ingram in breach of contract
FAIRFIELD COUNTY - A news release from the Fairfield County School District’s attorney on behalf of the district states that former school superintendent Dr. Samantha Ingram is ‘in breach of her employment contract with the Board.’
The statement, released July 22, 2009, states: ‘Last night the Board of trustees learned that Dr. Ingram has accepted employment as the Superintendent of South Carolina/Fort Stewart/DoDDS-Cuba District schools. On Thursday, July 16, 2009, we were advised by our attorney that Dr. Ingram wanted to be released from her contract. However, the terms of the release had not been completely worked out. As of last night (July 21,) the Board has not received a letter of resignation from Dr. Ingram, nor has the Board voted to accept any such resignation.
‘It is evident through newspapers and press releases that Dr. Ingram was actively seeking employment while she was out on sick leave. It appears that she has moved out of the District, and besides a request to extend her sick leave, she has rarely communicated with anyone representing the Board.
‘Under these circumstances, the Board is left with no alternative, but to conclude that she is in breach of her employment contract with the Board.
‘The Board was very reluctant to contact Dr Ingram because according to Dr. Ingram, her doctor advised that she not receive calls from the Board and not perform any of the duties of her job, as that could have interfered with her recovery.
‘Ms. Milam will continue to serve as Acting Superintendent and in the coming days, the Board will announce its decision on an Interim Superintendent and its plans for a search for a permanent Superintendent.
‘We ask that the community continue to support the Board in its efforts to move the District forward. Thank you.’
At press time, efforts to reach Dr. Samantha Ingram were unsuccessful.
Your vindictive nature will be your downfall. The letter to the editor that was posted a few weeks ago said it the best "What is going on reminds me of an abusive husband”. You have made it clear that you do not want her.
A letter indicating resignation is too good for you. Maybe, Dr. Ingram should come to the board meeting and let each of you, including the lawyer, stand up, turn around and don't forget to touch your toes as she throws you a kiss. Since you did not want change throwing a kiss should keep you happy.
Now is the time for one of you to step down from the board and become the interim superintendent. You have set the school district back by at least 10 years. You take up so much time attacking Dr. Ingram but you have forgotten that you have a district to run and children depending on your decisions. Please accept my apology that last sentence was meant for reasonably intelligent people. Maybe, you can understand this “Get over it”.
