On Saturday morning, Winnsboro DPS was dispatched to McDonald’s, 23 Hwy. 321 Bypass South, at 5:38 a.m. after manager Lovonia Rivers reported a break-in at the restaurant.
“We think it was an inside job,” said Interim Chief of Public Safety Freddie Lorick. “And we are in the process of running polygraphs.”
Three employees -- the manager, assistant manager and an employee -- will soon face the lie detector.
According to the chief, a door was either left unlock or the theft had a key to the business.
“There were no signs of forced entry,” he said.
The incident report states that the manager noticed the restaurant’s north door was unlocked and the safe door was ajar.
The burglary is still being investigated.
