WDPS Chief Freddie Lorick said Cloud was shooting at a juvenile, whose name is being withheld because of his age, as he chased him through Deer Wood Apartments, 647 U.S. Hwy. 321 Bypass S.
The altercation allegedly began at Fairfield Central High School earlier that day between the juvenile and the shooter’s brother. The two had gotten into a fight, Lorick said, and the argument continued to the apartment complex, where Cloud pulled out a handgun and began firing several shots at the boy.
No one was injured.
“We’re still investigating the situation,” Lorick said. “But we did get statements from several people, including the manager of the complex.”
Lorick wasn’t sure if the fight was gang-related or not.
Cloud is currently being housed at the Fairfield County Detention Center. He had been placed on a no trespass notice for Deer Wood Apartments prior to the shooting.
