Fairfield County Residents:

Keep Fairfield Beautiful needs more than your support; it needs leaders! This letter is an urgent appeal for community representatives to step forward and serve on the Keep Fairfield Beautiful non profit board. One of the requirements to maintain a healthy board structure is having committed and active members. Without that organizational structure; the organization will not run properly and may risk losing affiliation and funding. The duties of these board members include selecting and supporting the programs of our KFB organization. The result of not having enough board members is catastrophic to an organization; the responsibilities rest on too few to be able to effectively carry out the mission.

Within the Keep America Beautiful network, there are many affiliates throughout America, who have a waiting list of persons to fill their board slots. That has never been the case in Fairfield County, but I am optimistic that we can have that happen here, too!

I would like to recognize and thank our present board and thank them for their continued dedication. The exemplary, long standing board membership from Clemson Extension, Ben Arnold Beverage Company and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hubert, are clearly why Keep Fairfield Beautiful has successfully maintained our 501-c3 status and Keep America Beautiful affiliation. Alas, without others, willing to participate and devote time to attend the monthly scheduled board meeting, we do not get a good representation of community or participation in our mission. The KFB board meets on the third Wednesday of each month (with the exception of July and December) at noon, at the Clemson Extension office, in the J. B. Floyd building. Won’t you step up and volunteer now? Please call 803-635-4722 or my cell, 803-633-0838 now.
