Between the night of April 8 and the morning of April 9, five separate incidents took place within the town limits.
In the 100 block of West College Street, someone had a tire cut on their car, while in the 200 block of West Washington Street, the tire on a Honda SUV and an Infiniti were also slashed.
Two separate incidents were also reported in the 100 block of North Vanderhorst Street. According to the WDPS incident report, when the homeowner came outside on the morning of April 9, he found two tires on his Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Impala had been cut with a knife or some type of sharp object. The second residence on North Vanderhorst Street also reported having two vehicles with slashed tires.
The tires on three vehicles parked outside of Active Day Care Center on North Congress Street were also cut.
Public Safety Chief Freddie Lorick said he does not believe the incidents were gang related.
“We believe it was a group of guys with nothing else to do,” Lorick said. “We have a few people of interest who we’re looking at.”
