The Fairfield County Council voted to pass an ordinance to accept the transfer of authority for conducting municipal elections in the town of Ridgeway at their May 10 regular meeting. The Fairfield County Voter Registration and Election Commission will now conduct the town’s elections and reimburse Ridgeway for the cost of holding the elections.

The second reading of the ordinance to establish the County’s operating and capital budgets for fiscal year 2010/2011 was approved. The council will hold budget work sessions on Tuesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 20 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
