A 20-year-old Great Falls woman was killed in a single-car accident early Friday morning on S.C. Highway 901.

Haley Gallman was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2002 Ford Mustang she was driving left the road and struck a tree shortly after 1 a.m., according to the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office. Gallman was traveling north near Heritage Road when her car went off the opposite side of the road.

According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, Gallman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Speed is believed to have been a factor, the Highway Patrol said. The speed limit in that area is 45 mph.
