A Pennsylvania woman was killed Tuesday morning as she traveled with her husband through Fairfield County on I-77.

Shirley Robinson, 71, of Portage, Pa., was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition northbound on I-77 when she collided with a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, also traveling northbound, near mile marker 48 at 11:18 a.m.

Both vehicles ran off the right side of the road, the S.C. Highway Patrol said, with Robinson’s Expedition overturning several times. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Fairfield County Coroner’s office.

The Sonata was driven by Jackie Feemster, 44, of Kentucky. He was not injured in the accident.

Robinson’s husband was transported to Richland Memorial, where he was listed in stable condition. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the Highway Patrol said.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
