With the election less than 33 days away those who are not yet registered to vote have only a few days before they will not be eligible for the Nov. 6 election.
The deadline for registering for the Nov. 6 election is Saturday.
The local office at 315 S. Congress St. Winnsboro will be open from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday to help anyone who needs to get registered.
If you can’t make it to your local voter registration office your have another option as of this week you can go to https://info.scvotes.sc.gov/eng/ovr/start.aspx and register online. In order to take advantage of this option you must have a S.C. driver’s license or Department of Motor Vehicles identification, if for any reason you have trouble while using this system contact your local election office for help.
For those who maybe working, out of town, or busy on election day you can go by you local office to vote absentee.
This process requires that you complete an application but the voter machines are now available to voters in some local offices. Although Saturday is the cutoff for new persons to register those who may have moved, missed places their voter registration card, or need to make correction can continue to visit their local voter registration office after that date.
Director of the Fairfield County election office Debby L. Stidham said, “I encourage every voter to check their voter registration information and confirm everything is in order before the election day. If you have questions about your voter registration you can contact the local voter registration office or visit www.scvotes.org.”
