WINNSBORO — Rotarian Harper Shull sponsored a diverse program for his fellow Rotarians recently. Fellow Rotarian Susan Douglass Taylor entertained the club with three selections from her musical CD. This is her first professional CD and she wrote all the songs on it.
The other guest was Shull’s close friend, Ben Hoover, who is co-anchor of the WIS TV evening news in Columbia. Hoover shared some of his experiences during a special news assignment dealing with the homeless.
He lived with the homeless in Columbia for four days taking on the role as a homeless person himself. He interacted with them to have a sense and feel of what their lives were like. This experience allowed him some interesting discoveries which he shared with the TV viewing audience. After his talk, Hoover fielded questions from the club.
