JENKINSVILE — St. John Baptist Church of Anderson Quarry recently celebrated its oldest member, 92-year-old Lizzie Young Davis. Lizzie Young Davis was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Fairfield County. She was married to the late Hosie Davis and has one daughter, Loretta Davis Green.
Davis has six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She has one sister, Veleria Young Hill, and four nephews. Her favorite songs are “Just Keep On Praying” and “My God Will Never Say No.” Mrs. Davis joined St. John Baptist Church about 55 years ago and attended faithfully until the decline of her health. She is truly a living inspiration to all who know her.
