WINNSBORO — The Richard Winn varsity boys squad fell behind early against Spartanburg Day in road region action Tuesday night.
RWA trailed 27-15 at the half and could not mount a serious rally in the second half of play. The Eagles lost 54-38. They were led in scoring by Joseph Goldin with 11 points.
Spartanburg Day made 5-18 from three point land, with senior Rainsford Reel again recording a solid game against RWA. Reel scored 18 and made four 3-pointers. Senior Will Baehr added 13 points and had 7 rebounds.
RWA hopes to rebound from this loss to an athletic bunch of Griffins when they head back up to Spartanburg, this time to take on Spartanburg Christian. Middle school action begins at 4 p.m. with varsity ball following the middle school games.
