UNION — In the first round of the SCISA Region 2A Class III Regional Tournament, the Richard Winn Lady Eagles made short work of their opponent, Greenwood Christian.

Led by junior point guard Carson Justice with 20 points, the Lady Eagles ran away with the contest by a final of 68-19. Also joining Justice in double figures were Jaycie Johnson with 13 points and Emily Brigman with 10 points. Eight players scored for RWA in the contest.

Unselfish play and hustle as well as tenacious defense allowed the Eagles to improve to 24-1 on the season. No Greenwood Christian players scored in double figures in this contest, one of the final few games the team can use as a tune up before the playoffs get here.

The Lady Eagles’ next tournament game is Feb. 12 against Spartanburg Christian Academy. The game also will be played on a neutral site. The Eagles enter into the contest riding an eight-game winning streak and have a perfect 8-0 record in the region.
