WINNSBORO — The Fairfield Central Griffins dropped another lopsided loss on Friday night, losing 15-5 to Columbia High.

This comes on the heels of a 15-3 loss earlier in the week to the Richard Winn Eagles.

In the RWA game, Stanley McManus went 1-3 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Jarvis Kennedy, Markell Whitaker and Jay Cook all had hits and a stolen base.

The early bumpy road for this group does not deter head coach Scotty Dean. He said his players need to come together and support one another if they are going to pull out of this early season funk.

“Right now we have a ‘you’ team that makes too many mistakes and we do not throw enough strikes to be competitive,” Dean said. “We are going to get better. It just takes time.”

The Griffins next play against Eau Claire in home action on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
